If you don't know your way around the tracks, don't worry about upgrading and spending money right away. This is a good test of your driving skill. You should know that it is possible to win several special events as well as the first few Official Races with no modifications at all to your car. What you will find is that even if your car cannot win a Special Event on one track, perhaps because it lacks top power, it may well be able to win or a twistier, slower track, and therefore you should re-run the event until you get to the track where you can win. Official Races also give you these, plus they unlock the License modes and the next stage of races, when a podium has been achieved in each.Īnother note about Special Events is that the track you race on for each event changes each time you run that event, whereas each Official Event features the same track layout. No new tracks or play modes are unlocked by racing Special Events, only prizes, cars and money. The thing to remember is that the Special Events are one-off events used to earn money and prizes, whereas the primary goal of the "Official" races is to advance in the career mode. Given the fact that it¿s got the best stats, and the fact that the 206 is the basis for the Peugot World Rally effort, the 206 seems like the logical choice, but you can do fine with either the Fiat or the Peugot. Note: Hold the left trigger down when highlighting a car to select, either in the shop or in your garage, and you¿ll see what events for which it is eligible to race, and holding down the right trigger will let you know what modifications have been made to the car.Īs you can see the two most likely candidates for starting the game are the Fiat Punto and the Peugot 206.
